Risk management RandstadRail 2
Since 2007, RandstadRail has offered a safe and rapid connection between The Hague, Rotterdam and Zoetermeer. RandstadRail comprises three railway connections and a quick bus line. There are two connections between The Hague and Zoetermeer (line 3 and 4) and The Hague – Rotterdam section of RandstadRail will eventually continue onto the Slinge via the new Statentunnel and the existing metronet (Erasmuslijn). The partial projects each have their own scope and dynamic and also involve a combination of many issues. MAN consultants was asked to conduct three risk-analyses for planning, finances and the organisation of the project, on behalf of RandstadRail Project organisation (the council of The Hague), the Stadgewest Haaglanden and the RET (on behalf of Stadsregio Rotterdam). Qualitative and quantitative reports were used to indicate the probability of both under and over spending. The project organisation was, thus, provided with an adequate tool for guiding the partial projects and for providing information to the commissioning party.

Planning Trekvliettracé The Hague
The Dienst Stedelijke Ontwikkeling (Urban Development Service) in The Hague is currently hard at work on preparations for the Trekvliettracé. This new connection between the Ypenburg interchange (A4/A13) and The Hague’s city centre is currently still in the development phase. MAN consultants drew up plans for the Trekvliettracé project team in Primavera. Probability planning is also to take place using Pertmaster and this will provide information in terms of risk management.

Project control Masterplan N201+
The N201 is the cause of quality of life, security and accessibility problems in the region of Aalsmeer, Uithoorn, Amstelveen and Haarlemmermeer. This is the result of noise pollution, odour nuisance, the build up of traffic and traffic hazards. In 2005, the province of Noord-Holland, therefore, started renewing and diverting the existing road between Hoofddorp and Mijdrecht (Masterplan N201+). This is one of the ways that the province is strengthening the region's economy, quality of life and security. The final renovated section will be delivered in 2011. The project is controlled by a senior project controller and a senior building administrator from MAN consultants.

Planning Maasvlakte 2
On 1 September, work was started on spraying sand for Maasvlakte 2. This was the starting signal for the expansion of the port of Rotterdam. The start of the works means that the project has entered into a new phase. Reason enough for the Maasvlakte 2 project organisation to approach MAN consultants with a requirement for planning capacity. In view of the fact that planning depends upon various processes, MAN consultants is providing support to the project organisers with a Senior Project Control Adviser.

Planning in relation to the province of Zuid-Holland
The Traffic and Transport Department at the province of Zuid-Holland conducts many projects each year. From laying a new cycle path to the complete replacement of the N210. All these projects (both large and small) have their own dynamic and phasing. The various projects are combined within an all-encompassing plan in which any problems must be brought to the fore. An experienced planner from MAN consultants is responsible for updating this plan and providing (requested and ad-hoc) advice about milestones, critical path and resources.

Planning in relation to Havenbedrijf Rotterdam (Rotterdam port company)
Each year, the Management Infra department for the Havenbedrijf Rotterdam executes many large and small projects within the sphere of management and maintenance of both dry and wet infrastructures In order to maintain an overview of all projects, MAN consultants draws up plans in Primavera.
